Healing Shepherd Ministries was started by Pastors Gerry and Dianne van der Wende in 2003, as an expression of their calling to minister Jesus' healing to the hurting.
Their preparation for service has included leading home groups in the United States, England and the Netherlands. Gerry and Dianne are experienced in the Cleansing Stream Ministries discipleship and deliverance program and have ministered in California, Nevada, Wisconsin and Illinois. Gerry graduated from The King's Seminary in 2002 and was licensed as a minister in the Foursquare Gospel movement in 2003, while he and Dianne ministered at The Church on The Way in Van Nuys, CA.
Later, Gerry served as accountant and taught discipleship classes while he and Dianne worked for the Salvation Army rehabilitation center in Waukegan, Illinois. Starting 2006 Gerry was the chaplain of the Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission in Reno, until moving to Susanville in 2010 to pastor Grace Fellowship Foursquare church. Since 2014 Gerry has been serving as the protestant chaplain at the local prison.
Dianne served at Big Brothers Big Sisters where she taught "at risk" teenagers about the perils of addiction to tobacco, alcohol and drugs. She was the executive secretary on the board of the Youth Services Network of Northern Nevada.
Gerry and Dianne have three wonderful children, eight grand-children and three great-grandchildren, each of whom is the absolute best!
Between them, Gerry and Dianne have experienced healing following the loss of a spouse to cancer, divorce, death of a step-child, chronic illness, deliverance from addiction and the results of childhood abuse. They have experienced extended unemployment and financial reverses. At the same time, the Lord has blessed them and shown his presence and help, every step of the way. These experiences are some of their credentials for ministry.
They have a passion for people, and for seeing them healed and set free to live to their full potential!
